Have you searched for your problem: (yes/no) Yes
If so, what terms did you try: upgrade blank, upgrade missing text, upgrade stories missing
State the nature of your problem: After upgrading from 1.1 to 3.3 with stories stored in text files, no story text is viewable via website
Do you have a test account for us? Not yet, no.
I upgraded a small (1000 story, 2 author) archive for a user of mine. The upgrade went fine except for some table issues (I worked through) and no errors. Now via the website you can search and find stories (which are stored in files, not the database). However, when you click on the stories, there is no story text. I created one new story and was able to edit it, and it does now appear with the full text. No other story will do this. I have made sure the path to the stories is correct (it is "stories" which is a subdirectory of my users /public_html directory) and has permission of 777. I'm at a loss here.
Okay, I figured it out. The stories folder was fine, but the code is now looking for stories in the stories folder by uid, not by the author's name. I put links from the penname to the uid and story text started showing up. Now my user just has to edit their skin.

The upgrade script should have changed those names for you. If it didn't watch out for other hidden errors from the update.
