My website is for Family History (Genealogy).  I plan to use eFiction to allow users to write stories about individuals in the family tree.  Each individual in the tree would be a separate series. Within the series one story might be about childhood tales and another story might be about military service or occupations, etc.

There might be a reason to have multiple  chapters within each story. For example: childhood might have chapter on the individual falling out of a tree and breaking an arm, another chapter might be about the individual acting in a school play, etc.  Each chapter might be contributed by a different author (user).

My problem is this.  At the time a story is added, the author has no idea who might want to add a chapter in the future.  Might even be someone who hasn't looked at the site yet.  Might be two years down the road.  So it is impossible for the author to choose co-authors at the time he/she adds a storyline.  I realize, another author could add another story instead of a chapter, but for sake of clarity and other reasons, the new author might feel it is appropriate to add a chapter to an existing story.

I also wouldn't want the new author to have to contact the original author to have his/her name added to the list of co-authors.  This would be counter-productive and the original author might not be available any longer.

The solution I would like to have is this.  I would like to eliminate/bypass the need for co-authors (first choice) OR I would like to be able to automatically make all current and future authors co-authors of all current and future chapters.

Does anyone have any  ideas?

Thanks for your suggestions.

If the original author sets the story as a round robin any author can add to it.

The downside is that there is no restriction on who can add, just as long as they are a member of the site.

Thank you very much!  I'm still learning the terminology.  Had no idea what the round-robin was for, but it makes sense.

Thanks again!
