URL to your eFiction: http://www.svufanfix.com
Version of eFiction: 3.2
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?: no
Version of PHP: 2.6.4-pl4 (I think that's what you want)
Version of MySQL: 5.0.15
Have you searched for your problem: yes - I found similar topics, but none of those solutions helped me
If so, what terms did you try: upload problems, story upload, etc.
State the nature of your problem: "You must include the text of your story either as an upload or as input into the textarea." This even after having c/p text into the textarea or converting a Word doc to both txt and html files. It started out as only one author, who I thought might be affected because of an accidental duplication of her user name (I deleted the dupe yesterday, she couldn't upload today). But when I got into the admin area to upload a new story, I get the same error message. I tried to upload the same file in my own user account and got the same error message.
I have verified that my config.php is set to 666 as well as the stories directory set to 777. My submission settings are appropriate for unsolicted stories, so that's not the problem. I've looked at the database, but I admit I don't know what I'm looking at or how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do you have a test account for us? Yes. PM/email me for info
Thanks.
[edit - 3/1] I deleted everything off the site and tried reinstalling 3.1 for the fourth time this morning and nothing worked. I couldn't get into the settings to change anything once i was logged in (blank area were the data was supposed to be). And since I'd been having serious problems with the web host's slow upload/download times, I've asked them to cancel my account. So the eFiction problem is moot.
Thank you for listening.
If your version of php is 2.6.4 you've probably got plenty of problems on the site. I hope that's your phpmyadmin version. Use the PHP Info link in your admin panel to find your php version number.
Yes, that was the phpMyAdmin version. ::blushing::
PHP Version 5.2.1
[edit]
I just tried something else. I took an HTML file (a webpage I'd designed for another website) and tried to upload it as a file. It worked. Weird, since converting a Word doc to either a txt or html file wouldn't work yesterday.
Since that worked, I just tried c/p from a Word doc and got the same "You must include the text of your story either as an upload or as input into the textarea." Saving that doc as diary.txt doesn't work, nor does saving it as diary.html. ::headdesk::
Now my brain really hurts. Got aspirin along with any answers?
