I uploaded everything correctly, everything but the config file...and I go to the front page and get THAT.

I'm getting this on the main page:

A fatal MySQL error was encountered.
Query:
Error: (1054) Unknown column 'member' in 'field list'

Why didn't you upload the config file? Did you run the upgrade? It sounds like your tables haven't been converted.

Because the instructions told me not to...

BACK UP YOUR FILES AND YOUR DATABASE FIRST!!  Replace the files on your
server with the 3.0 files EXCEPT for config.php.  Go to your site.  The script
will detect that the config.php file is for 2.0 and start the upgrade.

I began screwing around with it... and the site is actually working now but everything in the settings like admin, all the options show up four times:

Add New Series | Add New Series | Add New Series | Add New Series | Add New Story | Add New Story | Add New Story | Add New Story | Featured Stories | Featured Stories | Featured Stories | Featured Stories | News | News | News | News | Submissions | Submissions | Submissions | Submissions | Admin Manual | Admin Manual | Admin Manual | Admin Manual | Skins | Skins | Skins | Skins | Version Check | Version Check | Version Check | Version Check

First.  Go read the instructions for posting a help request.  You're specifically told NOT to post a subject like that.

That said.  It looks like you ran the upgrade script multiple times.  Go to Admin->Panels and delete the duplicates.  You'll probably also need to go to Admin->Custom Pages and delete those duplicates and Admin->Page Links and delete those as well.

I'm marking this solved as I can see from other posts by the original author this has been resolved.
