Version of PHP: can be found out from your host
Version of MySQL: can be found out from your host
Have you searched for your problem: yes, I've found information about solved bugs but nothing abuot this particular issue.
If so, what terms did you try: tiny mce, tinymce, tiny mce error
Have you looked at the FAQs: Yes
State the nature of your problem: No errors actually appear, I am certain it is an error of my own fault but I can't pinpoint what I am doing wrong.
I've installed an archive and database on the main URL of the site for my friend, but during an attmept to create one for my personal use in the subfolder, things went wrong. I don't know what the problem is but the program simply will not allow Tiny MCE to function once install is complete. In the tiny mce configuration screen in settings, there is nothing there, the choice buttons for italicizing, bolding etc are gone, all of it is gone. It is as if the program wasn't installed at all. It is like that for adding and editing a story.
I have deleted, uploaded, and reinstalled at least six times during the day and each time it is the same issue. Im fairly certain I am using the same version of efiction 3.0 that I did for the main site. I've tried reuploading several times in hopes that some small file was not uploaded correctly, still without luck. I've also tried toggling the on/off option in the settings and refreshign my computer screen. I've tried a variety of different skins, including csszen and elegance.
Are you sure that you have TinyMCE enabled in your settings?
Also it could be if your web browser is incompatible with TinyMCE, see a compatibility chart here.
I'm sorry. I should have said that I was using firefox to view everything. I can try again with internet explorer and others to see if it is some error of mine.
I doubled checked, and triple checked the enable settings. I set them to off, saved, then set it to on, saved, checked, no change. I refreshed my screen and doublechecked it again. Still no change. I am wondering if it is changing in my settings menu but not in the php script itself. Where can I go into the php code and make the change to enable it manually?
Firefox should not be giving you any problems. I just checked your site now, did you resolve the problem? If not then it might be your computer, because now everything seems to be working fine, I can view TinyMCE on the review textarea for your test story.
It must be my computer then, if you can view it just fine. I'm trying to use it and nothing at all will show up. I'll figure out if I can clean cookies or clear out the cache and fix whatever is causing the problem.
Gah. Problem solved.
It works for me too. Personal settings trump site settings. Edit your preferences.
Now I just feel plain silly. Thanks you. I was searching the site settings and never thought it was in the personal settings.
