URL to your eFiction: http://nan.waking-vision.com/index.php (not a live site)
Version of eFiction: 3.0
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?: no
Version of PHP: 4.4.1
Version of MySQL: 4.0.23

Alright, I just did an upgrade from a fresh 1.1 install to 3.0 (I only realized afterwards there's obviously a 3.01 floating around). The install went flawlessly, or so it seemed. Expect for two problems. I can't see any story text. I have everything stored in files and the settings reflect that. I can't figure out what's wrong. Additionally, I'm getting a TinyMCE error. I've uploaded the TinyMCE folder twice now without any success. You can see both problems here:

Anything I'm missing?

As stated in the README.txt file, 1.1 skins don't work with 3.0.  You need to choose a 3.0 skin.

Mhm, I used the skins that came with the install. I switched to "elegance" just now, which I think I saw in the skin contest for 3.0 and I still can't see any story text. I'll probably redo the whole upgrade tomorrow and see whether it helps.

And since it's midnight right now in my part of the world: Merry Christmas:)

Most likely, the author's folders in your stories/ folder didn't get renamed from their username to their user id.  You'll need to do that by hand probably.  So for instance the folder labeled "Aragornwriter" would be changed to "2".

Aha! That's working wonders, thanks! I hadn't noticed the folders were supposed to go back to numbers instead of pennames.

Any idea about the TinyMCE though? It's driving me nutters.

I'm not getting any tinyMCE errors so you'll have to be more specific.  You should also start a separate thread.

I'm not getting any tinyMCE errors either.. you'll have to give the url of a place you are getting the errors. But before that, clear your cache and your temp internet files and hard refresh the page. that might clear it up.

(So you finally updated Naice a Nilme? Whoo. I'm familiar with that site, I used to read there often. If you need help upgrading your old skins I can help you.)

Whoever said nothing is impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

Bump.  If the original author doesn't reply by the end of the week, we'll consider this solved.

Yes, consider it solved. Your answerd helped with the missing story text and the TinyMCE error disappeared on its own. I decided to let sleeping dogs lie and not investigate further:)
