If so, what terms did you try: script not detecting upgrade, and I looked through the 3.0 forums myself
Have you looked at the FAQs: yep
State the nature of your problem: Upgrading from 3.0 to 3.01. Uploaded all the files, save for config.php, went to my site... no upgrade screen. Not a blank page or anything - just my usual site. I double checked I'd uploaded the install folder, etc. but I can't find any problems. Have I missed something here?

It's not supposed to. It only auto-detects on a major upgrade. Go into your admin panel and run the update. Admin->Archive Maintenance->Run Update.
