I know it may seem an unusual question but, can I remove all instances of "Series" from my archive? Since my archive is only set up to feature stories from one series, it seems like having links leading to a listing of series and forcing writers to fill in the Series field when they submit a new story seems silly.
In 3.0, you don't fill in the series when adding or editing a new story. The Series function (linking more than one story together, like by the same fanfiction author) is seperate and has to be filled out on its own.
Are you sure that you aren't confusing Series with Categories?

Okay, I see what Series is now. @_@ You're right, I was confusing it with Categories.
I think the only way to take categories completely out of your archive, is to modify the script.
You can take the link out of the browse page, and not have categories listed in any story blocks easily, but taking it out of the add/edit story page? I don't know how to do that.
You could always use catgoeies for something else, like a classification. you could try Type of fic (one shot, chapter, episode continuation) or romantic pairings of characters, what season the story belongs in, or use it instead of genres.

In your site settings there's a place to choose whether or not you have one category or multiple categories. Set it to one category will hide categories.
