URL to your eFiction: http://amalthia.mediawood.net/ebooks/
Version of eFiction: 3.3
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?: no
Version of PHP: 5.4
Version of MySQL: 5.4
Have you searched for your problem: Yes.
If so, what terms did you try: validate, validation, admins
State the nature of your problem: I turned off the validate all submisisons option, and I validated myself as a level 1 admin. On my efiction 2.0.7 site I have the same settings but as a level 1 admin that's validated I'm able to add stories for other authors and they are automatically validated. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong?
Do you have a test account for us? No

Are you marking them as validated?  There's an option on the add story form when you're an admin for what level of validation the story has.  It'll default to 0.

That's exactly what I forgot to do when I uploaded the story. Thanks for your help.

Is there a way to change the drop-down menu in the admin add-story php so that it automatically selects 'story validated' instead of 'no'?

Yes, but what exactly do I need to edit there? I've already tried switching the order around. A little more specific directions would be really great! =)
