I don't know if this is the right topic but I think it is a skinning problem.

I've installed the new version of efiction (3.0.2) for my site www.bloomfiction.com and the site is working very well.
But I still couldn't solve this two problems:

I'm using Zenlike as skin an now I have two major problems:
in the user-profile I can't see the website and the options for messengers... did I miss something to enable?

and the second problem: I can't upload a new story or a chapter for an existing story.
if I click on preview on this site nothing happens and if I click upload I get a preview but I can't update the story or the chapter. same thing with edditing a existing story (like a summary ect.)

can someone give me a tip where to change something???
I know html and php, but I found nothing to solve this problem!

thanks!

Check your admin settings.

The profile information can be turned on and off in the admin panel.  Admin->Profile Information.  You may have it turned off.  The script is set up to not display empty information.  From what I see of that skin there's no label information in the profile for those options.  Edit profile.tpl to add labels.

Check Admin->Settings->Submission Settings for the upload problem.  "Turn off unsolicited submissions" should be set to "No".  If that doesn't solve it, please set up a test account for us to use to look at things.

Hey Tammy!

thanks for your fast reply!
I turned the profile settings on and edited the profiles.tpl but it still doesn's show the informations on the site - but that is still a small problem.

because of the story- and chapterupdate: all the settings you told me where right but I found a very funny thing:
if I run the page in english everything works fine - both uploads are working
if I run the page in german(it's a german page) the upload doesn't work. a very strange thing.

I've created the test-accound but I don't know if you'll still need it, because it's a language problem

thanks for your help! maybe the is just a small thing I have to add in the german-language files

Well sounds like you've figured out where to look with the language files.  I think your best bet there is going to be to take it back to the english files and then switch the german translations out a section at a time until you can narrow it down to the translation that's causing the problem.

Using the test account I think I got your profile settings fixed.  Looks like the Yahoo field got corrupted somehow.  Also using the test account I was able to add a story.  I set it to be non-validated so it won't show up in the main list, but it was accepted.  I can look at it in the test account's "Manage Stories" panel.  Did you try to submit with more than one chapter/story or was it the same chapter/story?  If it was the same story/chapter, you may search for curl in the text of the story.  If you were trying to upload a file, make sure it was a .txt or .html file.  The script cannot accept .doc files.

Thanks Tammy, you're great!

Well, when I wanted to upload a chapter or a story both didn't work when I was running the german languages files. when I changes that setting to english it worked very well!
one of my members was coping the text of the docfile and inserted it into the story-test field and two seconds later I got an email that it doesn't work.

No I'm working with the language-file and I'm translating all links for my users because some of them are not that good in english and want to have it in german - I'm the admin so I'll do it *gg*

Thank you very much for your help! I'm working on the site for 12 hours now... and finally there seems to be a light!

Okay.  Well, as I said. The story submission worked for me.  Come back if it turns out not to be the translations.
