My members say they keep getting logged out whenever they click "Add New Story" and shows "You are not authorized to access that function."

I have my submissions setting for

    Turn off unsolicited submissions: 'no'
    Automatically validate all stories: 'yes'

My stories folder is CHMOD 777.

I even had one of my members give me her password and username to see if I could post a story with hers, and it worked for me. But not for anyone else.

Please help. Thanks.

We are going to use more information than that. As it says on the Read this before posting thread:

3.  Put a link to the page on your site where the problem appears.  While a link to your index page will often due, it is much prefered that you link to the exact page.  Even if it's an admin page we can't access, a direct link is most helpful when diagnosing problems.  Without a link, your request will most likely be ignored.

9. Please turn debug on in your settings.  This setting places information in html comments that will help us narrow down the problem.

10.  If you have modified your installation of eFiction, we need to know this.  If you have added any modules, please tell us this as well.

Here's the Support Request Template:

URL to your eFiction:
Version of eFiction:
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?:
Version of PHP: can be found out from your host
Version of MySQL: can be found out from your host
Have you searched for your problem: (yes/no)
If so, what terms did you try:
State the nature of your problem: Copy and paste any errors you are receiving.
Do you have a test account for us?

Whoever said nothing is impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

Version of eFiction: 3.2.1
Have you bridged eFiction?: no
Version of PHP: 4.4.4
Version of MySQL: 4.1.21-standard-log
Have you searched for your problem: yes
If so, what terms did you try: "not authorized", "add story", "logged out"
Do you have a test account for us? no

My members say that whenever they click on "Add New Story"  they are automatically logged out and this message appears: "You are not authorized to access that function."

I have my settings as follows

    Turn off unsolicited submissions: 'no'
    Automatically validate all stories: 'yes'
    Display Debug Information: 'yes'

No modules or installation modifications have been made.

All of the members are validated authors. However, only two members (who are NOT an admin or moderator) were able to post a story, aside from myself.

This error message appears only on the main (home) page when not logged in:

Notice: Undefined variable: submissions in /home/handh/public_html/fanfiction/blocks/info/info.php on line 52

Line 52 of info.php is word count. What do you have set as your minimum and maximum word counts? You would find that in Admin->Settings->Submission Settings. I leave both blank because I'm not trying to limit the wordcount for things. Maybe you have a number that's too small?

So I found out what was wrong with the info page, but I have yet to see if that had an effect on people posting stories. And most of my members still get logged out when they want to add a story.  πŸ˜• But why is it that some already could? Every member is a validated author and the automatic validation option is turned on. Hmm...I'll have to wait and see.

So it was the info.php block option in the admin section that caused the problem. I had the info block set to narrative where I used html codes. But as soon as I set it to 'chart', people were able to post. Thanks for the help.
