[SOLVED] Major Help with the "Submit Story Page"...

1) When I go to the add a story page and type in everything and when I submit it it always says, "Some of the required information is missing. Please check your input. Required fields are title, summary, categories, rating, and story text."

First off, the ratings won't show up in the drop down menu. It is just blank so there is no way of selecting the rating.

Second, is there anyway to get rid of some of the forms I don't want/need such as chapters. I am using this efiction script for people to submit their TRUE stories and experiences so it really isn't a fiction site so I don't need Chapters, ratings and stuff.

2) Another thing is when I go to "Contact Us" and submit a message it says, "The email could not be sent. Please contact the administrator to report this problem". What is wrong with that?

Okay, I think that's all the problems as of right now. THANKS!

Are you running 3.1 or 3.11? You have debugged turned on. I seem to recall there was a tiny bug in 3.1 where you couldnl't have both debug and something else turned on (although I don't remember what that was now). Try turning off debug and see if it doesn't resolve the problem.

If you are running version 3.1, then download 3.1.1 and do a run update.

If you get

"The email could not be sent. Please contact the administrator to report this problem"

usually that's because you didn't write your own e-mail in right. I get it all the time. πŸ™‚

No Jan,

I don't think that's it. I just went over there and I couldn't send email to through the contact form. Emilliana, under Admin->Settings->Email Settings, do you have anything plugged in there (i.e. the SMTP Host, username, password)? If you do, try leaving all those fields blank and see if that doesn't resolve the problem.
