URL to your eFiction: http://www.libraryofmoria.com/a/
Version of eFiction: 3.4.3
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?: Nope
Have you searched for your problem: Yes
If so, what terms did you try: livejournal, {livejournal}
State the nature of your problem: I've created a skin for my site based on CSS Zen. This skin has the following code in the profile.tpl:

<span class="label">LiveJournal: </span>{livejournal}

The problem is that the LJ is not showing. Here's the example of my profile, which I know has an LJ entered: http://www.libraryofmoria.com/a/viewuser.php?uid=1

I also tried downloading a few skins to check their code and see if I had made a mistake but unfortunately, all those I've tried didn't have this field.

Do you have a test account for us? Yes, the efiction one

I'd be really grateful for any aid in this.

it looks like you havant uploaded the lj image to your skin folder so upload lj.gif from your efiction images  folder to all of your skins folders (skins/skinname/) so do that and it should show up for you

oh and by the way your test account info is wrong as eFiction does not come with an account already set up as you can set it up manually after completing installation, its a good idea to create a test account after setup in case you require help from us here!

Hi

Thank you for the quick reply.

I've tried uploading the lj.gif to the /LoM/images, then to /LoM (the skin folder) and finally to /skins - none of that worked and frankly, I'm not getting why the image would be needed when it is not part of the skin layout and this is a text field... should I include code to have this image display in the skin? I don't see this mentioned in your reply.

About the test acount - you're right, it's not there anymore because I deleted it, but when we upgraded to efiction 3.4.3 an account named 'test' with the efiction gmail associated to it was created, presumably by the script. If this is not an integral part of the package I would like additional information on why it was there in the first place.

What is the problem? That the image is not showing up (did you put it down) or that the actual LiveJournal field isn't showing up?

If you use {authorfields} what happens?

Edit: Make sure the variable name is the same name in the profile information field.

Hi, thanks!! This was exactly what I needed.

The image not showing is not a problem - we have a very simple layout and it wasn't our intent to have it showing.

The problem was the {authorfields} missing. Instead of it, I had a series of fields like Livejournal: {livejournal}. Replacing all of that with {authorfields} fixed it.

Thanks so much.

(Btw, I love your site)

I was going to say what Jenny said but I took a look at your code as I was typing my reply  and saw something that made me think you already had the {authorfields}  tag for some reason anyway glad that we could help you πŸ™‚
