URL to your eFiction: Online, but not open to public yet.
Version of eFiction: 3.5.2 + story tracker 1.1
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?: SMF 1.1.11
Version of PHP: 5.3.3
Version of MySQL: 5.0.91
Have you searched for your problem: Yes, and I found this and it solved those errors.
If so, what terms did you try: Deprecated: Function eregi() / header.php on line 205 / Deprecated:
State the nature of your problem: On viewing story index and when reading story I get the following:
Deprecated: Function eregi() is deprecated in //header.php on line 205
And when sending a message through "contact us" (contact.php) I get this message in the next step where it lets me know that the message has been sent.
Deprecated: Function ereg() is deprecated in //includes/emailer.php on line 43
Deprecated: Function ereg() is deprecated in /***/includes/emailer.php on line 44
I know in theory what the problem is, I just don't have the knowledge of .php to feel secure in fixing this problem on my own so I'd be forever greatfull for any assistance I can get. Debug is turned off.
Do you have a test account for us? No, I'm sorry. at this time I don't.
Is debug off? If not, does it still show up when it is turned off? That's just a warning about the function being deprecated (meaning in some future version of PHP it worn't work, but as far as I understand everything should still be working properly now).
Yes, debug is turned off and everything is working, it's just the message that shows at the top of those pages.
Tammy did a change in header.php and uploaded to the SVN archive that got rid of the long list I had before of similar "errors"/warnings/messages, but I still have these ones left and though they don't cause any trouble (more than teasing me with their existence) I would love to get rid of them.
I'm working on a fix for the emailer. I need to check it before I upload it to the svn though.
Thank you. I wish you luck. Any idea what I should change row 205 in header.php to stop this:
Deprecated: Function eregi() is deprecated in /***/header.php on line 205
from popping up?
There's an update for header.php in the SVN to address that. I need to run one more test on the fix for emailer.php before I add that unfortunately my crappy Comcast connection isn't letting me connect to the FTP for my site to test it so that'll have to wait.
Thank you, that worked wonders on the header problem. I'm so thankfull you're willing to help me with this.
Tammy, is there anything I can do to help with the emailer.php?
Aside from fixing it? π
The fix is done. It's in the 3.5.3 download.
Thank you SO much for your help!
