I'm running efiction 3.2 with the latest patches and everything seemed to be working fine.  However, one of my members keeps getting this message when she tries to post a new story:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /stories.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.37 Server at www.svufanfic.net Port 80

My site is www.svufanfic.net and the test account is noname (pw: testing), although posting with that account seems to be working.  Is it likely to be something with her computer/browser/etc. or is it something with the script?

I just posted using your test account, and didn't see anything weird. No error messages. It worked just fine. (I was using Firefox as a browser).

Have your user clear the cache in their browser. Or it couldn't have been a quirk, they were at the page when the webhost was doing something. Or you might have been updating your efiction when they attempted to post.

How would they go about clearing their cache?

Internet Explorer 7 (because I don't have 6 on anymore but it's pretty similar):
Go to TOOLS->Internet Options
Click on Browsing History and click Delete (It will give you a list of Temporary files [which is the cache], cookies, etc).
Click Delete All... (if they want to clear everything out ).
[On IE6 under the General tab was something that said Temporary Internet Files (that's your cache) I believe there was a delete button associated with it].

On Firefox 2.0
Go to Tools->Clear Private Data...
Select Browsing History, an maybe Authenticated sessions and click Clear Private Data

People still seem to be having the same problem.  Does anyone else have any ideas?

If it's not happening for every chapter of every story, the problem is probably that your webhost has marked certain words as forbidden and it's killing the script.  "curl" and "lynx" are often the culprits.  Do a search for "curl" in the forums here for the work around.

Thank you so much!

In case anyone else is having this problem, what I did was upload the chapter one page at a time until I found the one with the offending word.  Then I cut it down by a few paragraphs at a time until I could narrow it down to the one word.  It ended up being the word "psychologically" for some weird reason, and all I did to fix it was change it to p<--->sychologically.  It seems to be working now.
