State the nature of your problem: I'm new to website building and running (at least on this scale) so I'll try and make myself as clear as possible.
I wish to create a "Recent Fanart" box, much like a "Recent Story". As you can see on my index page there is a header for recent fanart but no information.
The problem is: I have no idea how to gather the information needed. I believe that with recent stories the information is from the stories folder, but fanart has no such thing and I'm wondering if I need to create one and if so how can I have people's fanart be directed to it?
As I said, I'm not too good with this yet so try not to use too many big words.
just so your aware that your skin looks messed up the right hand column is overlapping the center column so im thinking maybe you forgot to close a tag somewhere in the skins code so you should really fix the skin first
as for your question I know of a mod that you could use to do this but it requires you to have Coppermine Gallery which you should have in your domains cpanel (fantistico) which pulls a random image from the said gallery so that may be something you would like to take a look at I myself have not tried this perticular mod but I've seen it in action π the mod allows you to display within eFiction (a) the most recently added images from Coppermine Gallery (cpgrecent) and (b) a random image from Coppermine Gallery (cpgrandom).

Took me a second to figure out where my site is messed up. It was on IE. I'm a Firefox user. That and my site is about to be completely revamped so I hadn't bothered checking.
But thanks for the warning!
And that thread you gave me was useful, though I think I'll wait until I have this website thing down pat before getting more complicated.
Either way you answered my question perfectly!
