Hi,
I am presently having an issue with one of my fanfiction archives in that when you try to use the Contact Us page or an author tries to request a new password, the following message appears:
The email could not be sent. Please contact the administrator to report this problem.
You can see this by trying the contact page at: http://fiction.romantic-intentions.com/contact.php
I did see another article ( https://efiction.org/forums/index.php?topic=4761.0) that displays as Solved that talked about this problem, but it was from February. I just upgraded to version 3.2.1 as of May 23, 2007 and uploaded all of the files from that .zip file and overwrote all of the files that I had and I am still experiencing this issue. Additionally, emails are not being sent out when a story is reviewed.
I understand that this may be due to a sendmail issue. If it is, is there any way for me to check the status of my sendmail capabilities or would I need to contact my host for this? Would it be better to use the SMTP email settings? If so, where would I find the host, username, and password settings for SMTP? I'm afraid I don't know much about these settings, so I'm not sure what's what.
If you need additional information, then please let me know and I will be happy to get it for you.
Do you have a valid email in the admin settings for the admin email?
*bangs head against table*
Yep. That would be the problem. I forgot to add the .com portion of the email address. Thank you very much for your help in getting this sorted out. What a moronic mistake for me to have made. π
