Link to the site: http://www.fanmedia.org/
Problem: Once the categories link is chosen, none appear no matter how many are there, or how many stories have been submitted.

We're beginning to set up our site and I uploaded a test story to make sure that everything is in working order.  There are several links under the categories of Anime and Manga, Videogames, and Books and Novels, but none will show up.  It only says that there are no results to show.

Did I forgot to change some option in the admin panel so that they will be visible?

I've checked the forums already, and also gone through the settings several times to make sure that everything was turned on.  Debug has been turned on.

Nothing has been modified or made to custom to our site yet.

Is this an upgrade or a new install?

Check out this thread.

If it doesn't help then reply here, not on there.

We will most likely need more information. This is the support request template you need to use.

It's a new install.

Sorry I'm completely new to this and don't understand a lot of the instructions that I've been reading, I'll use the template and post again in a momet.

URL to your eFiction: http://www.fanmedia.org
Version of eFiction: 3.0.1 fresh install
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?: no
Version of PHP: I dont know how to find out
Version of MySQL: I believe it was MySQL 3.0
Have you searched for your problem: yes
If so, what terms did you try: invisible categories, categories not showing up
Have you looked at the FAQs: yes
State the nature of your problem: No results found.

In debug it shows up as undefined categories block.  How do I define a category block?

This error happens for all of my categories that have subcategories.

Should I just wipe everything and reupload and reinstall?  When I did it the ftp errored out once or twice and I tried to pick up from whre it left off, it is possible one of my files did not upload and is missing, but I have no idea how to discover which it is.

Sorry for the trouble, It was the template I was attempting to use as a skin.  Shinigami blue simply had a category error somewhere.  Using another skin, it works perfectly.  I only need to discover why it continues to show shinigami blue to me when I log in, but changes to marauders (the new selection, whenever I have logged out)

When you are logged in, you use the skin that is selected as your personal defualt. When you are logged out, or a vistor, you use the DEFAULT skin for the whole site.

Change your personal default skin to Maruaders by editing your Personal Preferences in the Your Account panel. Right now it probably still lists the old skin that you deleted.

Please also note that 2.0 skins DO NOT work for 3.0.  As far as I know Shinigami blue is a 2.0 skin and hasn't been updated to 3.0 by the author.

I'm starting to figure that out now..  There was an entire setting in the admin panel that I overlooked.  Now that I've discovered it, things make plenty of sense.  Thank you for the help, I should have said which skin I was using from the beginning.  Things are perfect now.
