URL to your eFiction: http://hogwarts-quill.freehostia.com (not there yet)
Version of eFiction: 3
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?: I don't know what this means
Version of PHP: Not sure
Version of MySQL: Not sure
Have you searched for your problem: Yes
If so, what terms did you try: database error
Have you looked at the FAQs: Yes
State the nature of your problem: I've uploaded all of the files using an FTP, and I've got to the installation screen. I then enter all of the details for my database/username/password and press submit. The following message comes up above the box:

Cannot connect to the database. The information you supplied appears to incorrect. Please try again.

And at the top of the screen:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user 'amygli'@'hex11.freehostia.com' (using password: YES) in /home/www/amygli.freehostia.com/install/install.php on line 919

Here's a screencap:

I'm definitely using the right details, and I'm pretty sure I've changed the config.php details correctly.

I'm sort of fumbling in the dark here with what I'm doing, I don't have much knowledge of this sort of thing.

If anyone could be of help to me, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks πŸ™‚

Your database username or password are incorrect.  The database password and username will probably not be the same as the username and password your host assigned you.  Generally when you create a database, you'll need to create a user for the database as well.

As I see you've got the site up, I'm closing this thread.
