Hi there,

This is my day for trying to fix small problems. 🙂

Does anyone know why the AIM icon is not showing up for my archive? An example is here:

http://worldsfinest.comicslash.com/archive/viewuser.php?uid=1

All I get is a box with a question mark in it...

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have turned on the debugging function.

Thanks!

Do you have an aim image in the directory for that skin? I'm not receiving a box with a question mark in it. Usually though that would mean that the image is not set to the right directory or it does not exist.

I looked in the skin image directory, and I don't have an AIM icon, but then I don't have an icon for the other IM services, yet they show up. This must then have to do with the master skin files or coding--which I don't know much about. I guess I'll put it on the list of things I want checked when I get the skin edited by someone who actually knows what they're doing. LOL

Thank you so much for your help! 🙂

Double-check your images folder (not the one in the skins folder. There is a folder outside of that called images) and make sure the aim.gif file is in there.

Your site URL is wrong.  It should not include "index.php"

I'm sorry, but I don't understand. Do you mean I should change the name of the archive main page? I ran the install script and that's what it gave me...

My apologies but I'm not at all savvy about any of this. One of the things I like most about this script is that it was installable by following the directions--which is what I did. I don't know *why* anything is the way it is. LOL

Hmm...the aim icon gif is in the image folder...

Do you happen to know of a reason why it wouldn't be accessing the image?

When you look at the code via debug it says:

<div class='authorfields'><span class='label'>AIM:</span> <img src="" http://worldsfinest.comicslash.com/archive/index.php/images/aim.gif&off_url=http://worldsfinest.comicslash.com/archive/index.php/images/aim.gi f" target="_blank">http://worldsfinest.comicslash.com/archive/index.php/images/aim.gif&off_url=http://worldsfinest.comicslash.com/archive/index.php/images/aim.gi f"/> ">" <a href=""aim:goim?{aol}ScreenName=tmelange">tmelange</a>[/code"]

It should say

http://worldsfinest.comicslash.com /archive/images/aim.gif&off_url= http://worldsfinest.comicslash.com /archive/images/aim.gif">

without the "index.php" in it. Your website by default is http://worldsfinest.comicslash.com/archive/ (you don't add the index.php because browsers will automatically look for the index by default)

I'm not sure where you double check this though... in Profile Information->AOL->Edit and look at the custom coding in there to make sure you didn't add index.php to your address maybe.

OMG, you are the BEST. :) Such a simple thing! I simply went to admin, settings, site information and changed the website location from http://worldsfinest.comicslash.com/archive/index.php to http://worldsfinest.comicslash.com/archive/.

And it works!

So simple...

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. :)
