URL to your eFiction: http://www.cinemabizarrefiction.com/eFiction35
Version of eFiction: 3.5
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?: No.
Version of PHP: My host doesn't show it. (if it helps, I use Free Hostia as server)
Version of MySQL: 4.1.22-standard-log
Have you searched for your problem: Yes, but couldn't find what I'm looking for.
If so, what terms did you try: If looked for any error mentioning 35 in my database, but since I don't know what the error means, I don't kow WHAT I'm looking for.
State the nature of your problem: Sorry to bother you again but I have another problem. Lately I've been getting a 35 error. Meaning, all I get is a blank page, with in the top left corner 35. What does this mean? And how can I solve it? So far, it's showing up in the 'Validated members' (meaning, I can't access that page) and a few bio's can't be seen either because of that error.
Do you have a test account for us? No, but if needed I'll glad make one.
Can you link us to which profiles it is? And do you see anything additional when you turn debug on?
If I want to see my Validated Members: http://www.cinemabizarrefiction.com/eFiction35/admin.php?action=members&do=list&list=validated
If I want to add an Admin: http://www.cinemabizarrefiction.com/eFiction35/admin.php?action=admins&do=new
User Profile: http://www.cinemabizarrefiction.com/eFiction35/user.php?action=editbio&uid=69
And if I turn the Debug on, I still only get a blank page with 35 on it.
Ah, I didn't realize it was when editing a bio. I can't see any of those pages; only admins can. I would suggest reuploading the entire admin folder and admin.php, to start.
The user whose bio I speak of can't edit her own bio or see it. You don't have to be an admin to see/edit your own bio. But if you do have to be one, then I should see it. And I can't. I have to reupload the entire Admin folder? That's gonna take days! And won't I lose any info that the old folder contains? As for the 'Validated Members' section, I used to be able to access it, I just suddenly couldn't today, after Revoking some Validations of members.
This could just be your server acting up; contact your host and ask them if they've made any changes.
It won't take days (:P), and if you haven't edited anything in the old folder, then it should be fine.

Okay, it didn't take days 😛 But I did as asked and it didn't work. I never changed anything before either. I just want to know what the '35' means. Maybe then I can solve it.
Right, my point was only that since I'm not an admin or the member in question, I can't see what you're talking about, so the links you gave don't help in that regard. But, I do see the 35 thing when viewing the profile in question normally.

Since a profile is kind of the easiest place to start, I would suggest editing it through the database and getting rid of all the userinfo stuff, like the bio. There could be a word in there that's triggering your server to do bad things. See this wiki article for what I mean: https://efiction.org/wiki/index.php5?title=Server_Errors_and_CURL ETA: Make sure to save a copy of what was in there, so if that was the problem, you can try to pinpoint the cause. Also, if it's not the problem, then you can put it back. ; )
I don't know where the 35 is coming from. Page source also just says 35. I've never seen anything like it before.
Also, a thought: what's the username of member #69? Perhaps it's the username itself that's problematic, which could explain why it's the profile and the validated members lists that are wonky. Though, the authors list (authors.php) is fine...
Oh, I had this problem before on the Freehostia server and they've clarified that it's a banned word in their filter that's causing the error on your page. Of course, I don't know what host you're using and if they're using the same kind of banned words, or whatever but I'd get a blank page with the 35 on the top corner or either a 7 when ever someone used a "trigger" word anywhere on the page. Did you add anything with these words in them?
That's the only thing I can think of.
WHOIS says the host is Freehostia. I tried checking out there help but you have to log in to do so. his thread comes up in google, but I can only see the support guy's responses: http://forum.freehostia.com/search.php?search_author=widwool&sid=023f3352f032cbb86dbbff103a90da43
One major thing you should deal with right away is that your root domain has no index. I see the contents of your directory when I view http://www.cinemabizarrefiction.com. This is bad for security reasons. It would make the most sense to move your eFiction install to the root instead of the /eFiction35 folder, but regardless definitely put at least a blank index page in the root directory.
ETA: Looking around, I found that Freehostia is really known for having a forbidden word list that causes this kind of issue. They don't share it for security reasons, so you'll have to start a support ticket with them to figure it out. Here's a thread of interest I found.
I indeed opened a ticket and this is what I got back:
'The notification message: "35" that you have got is a message from our content filter script that searches for forbidden words in the pages scripts or the database content of our clients sites. The number that you see is related to one of the counted words or phrases that you have to clean from your site or database in order to be able to view your page online again:'
And then the words were mentioned that TinyxGumdrop mentioned.
So where should I look if I want to track down scripts that have those words? (even though I never added any of those.)
Like I said, one place to look would be at the contents of her profile through the database. I looked yesterday, and even though the authors page says she has one story, I couldn't find it. I could have missed it, or it could have been she's been removed as a coauthor put the story still appears in her profile (it's a bug with coauthors). I was concerned it might have to do with the story summary or something. (But in process I looked at the description of every story on the site, I think, and saw no more random number pages, so I think the stories are clear.)
I think I can run a search on the appropriate PHP files to see if there's anything in there. Otherwise you'll have to look in your database, which is where it probably is anyway.
ETA: Checked admin.php and admin/members.php just for kicks, and there's nothing in there that resembles the words in question.
ETA #2: http://www.cinemabizarrefiction.com/eFiction35/authors.php?list=members&let=M&let=L To get to this page, click the authors link in your menu bar. Change the dropdown to "all members". Click "L". Someone's got "lolita" in their username. That's what's causing the problem for all the admin stuff you're trying to do, I think. As for the one member's profile, if she's not the lolita username, then she's got another one of the forbidden words somewhere in her profile, or it's something in the one story that's appearing there. You can change all this in the database.
Thank you all for the great advices!! I've finally managed to track down why the profle wasn't showing. She had a 'forbidden word' in her bio. I've changed that and now I can see it again! YAY. Also, I've changed the 'lolita' username to something else and now both the pages of 'Validated Members' and 'Add Admins' can be seen too! I'm happy! Thank you all so much!
*puts SOLVED on topic*
You might want to add those words to your naughty words filter so you don't have it happen again. That would catch the words before they got into the database.
