Have you searched for your problem: yes
If so, what terms did you try: Basically I went through and looked at the most recent posts since this was released today.
State the nature of your problem:
OK, so I updated to 3.4 tonight...which said it was installed successfully. However, right now in the Site Stats block on the left hand side of the index page, I have duplicates of beta-reader, challenges, and challenger...and I cannot get the duplicated info removed. Also, in the Top 10 Lists.. http://www.sinful-desire.org/archive/toplists.php I have "recommenders" up there THREE times.
My next problem is, if you go to add a new story or just go look at the categories list in the admin section of the site, the sub-categories are gone! Can I simply add them in the admin section using the same title or will that mess everything up? In the admin section, "cateogories" if you go to "add subcategory" I can see the list of the subcategories there, but you can't use them.
Then, if adding a new story, if you select "remove" (which should affect the sub-categories that you pick) all the characters disappear!
And finally, I didn't have many to begin with, but the co-authors are gone. I have gone and manually fixed 1, but that's it so far. How can I do this manually using the backup I saved before updating to 3.4?
If you need to login as admin...user name: test, pw: test
Thank you in advance!
I did turn debug on and got this error: Notice: Undefined index: link_key in /home/sinfulde/public_html/archive/includes/pagesetup.php on line 83 but don't know if that has anything to do with what is going on.

For the top ten thing, just go into Admin->Panels and delete the extra "Prolific Recommenders". I noticed on my site the Prolific recommenders only appeared twice, so I deleted one of them.
As for the subcategories, I notice if I click on New story and click on Categories it says go back to main categories. But if I do that then click on categories again my categories do appear. You might have to do that to see if your subcategories still exist.
The co-author thing should it theory be fixed with 3.4.1 you may have to download 3.4 again and upload the files again.

Thank you! OK, so that fixed the Top 10 Lists....any idea how to get rid of the duplicate info in the Site Stats block on the index page?
The sub-categories are still there. I went to phpmyadmin and they are still in the categories table and it looks like it should be working correctly. But I don't understand why they aren't showing up like they always do when you click on one of the main top categories.

RE: site statistics.
Use phpmyadmin and delete the duplicate entries in the codeblocks table. They should be the last ones.
The sub-categories and characters are working for me on your site in IE7 and FF.
OK, so I'm looking through the codeblocks table, and this is what I see:
Which section do I look at to get rid of the entries?
Re: the categories...I've tested it on Safari and Firefox and it's not working on my Mac...however, it was working on my mom's Gateway just fine.
I'll to go add a new story, click on Sam/Dean, and it doesn't pull up any of the sub-categories. Also, when I click "Back to Main Categories" it won't take me back up to list both Sam/Dean and Jared/Jensen...now I've determined that it's only happening on my computer, what should I do?
Also, when in Admin -> Categories, the drop down selection doesn't work for either category. I even added a new one to Sam/Dean, and it doesn't appear once you click the "+" sign.

Clicking on Sam/Dean a second time doesn't pull up the subcategories on a mac because it does on the pc? I just checked on a mac running firefox and I saw your subcategories just fine. What version of firefox are you using? I'm on 2.0.0.13 for mac.

PHPMYADMIN Question -> Click on Browse. Then >> to go to the last rows.
Categories issue -> Turn on javascript.
OK, javascript was already enabled.
I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.13 and Safari 3.1
So...now the categories are appearing when I want to add a new story. But when I go to admin -> categories, I still cannot get the sub-categories to appear when I click the "+" sign.
And thank you for the help with the duplicate site info block Tammy, I really appreciate it!

Actually, I"m getting the Admin-->Categories issue too. And I have people complaining about the "Back to Main Categories" on my site as well. *scratches head*
Ok. I know what the admin categories issue is. I'll need a day or two to get it figured out.
Hi, I just upgraded to 3.4.2, with no changes to the admin -> categories situation. It's not a big deal as long as it will work for the authors adding stories.
Thank you!
