G'day guys.

If I use the SMF bridge, will the old eFiction members (or current ones, rather) still be able to log in, or will they need to re-register in the SMF section since it now would pull user info from the SMF members table...?

If you use the SMF bridge on an existing efic site, your old members will have to reregister and they would have to reupload all their stories and loose their reviews in the process. The best thing to do would be to copy the necessary rows of your member table over to the SMF database. I worry about doing that though, because SMF uses a different password hash than eficiton , and I think the everyone would need to get a  new password before they could log in.

No new passwords were needed when I did it. Check this thread for instructions, but be sure to read the warnings too. https://efiction.org/forums/index.php?topic=4736.msg25618#msg25618

I'd practice on a test archive or better yet a clone of your site, before trying it with you live site.
