I'd like to request a skin that I could use for my Harry Potter fiction site.
I want to use my own image for the main banner but I'd also like to be able to make 4 or 5 skins out of it by changing the main banner pic can anyone help me with this?

The best thing for you guys to do is pick a skin you like from the downloads, and modify it to your liking.
I can't speak for anyone else on this site, but I don't make skins for free, but I do offer help for free...
I chose a skin that I liked best and after trying to modify it to my needs I asked the developer of that skin to do it for me.
I told her what I wanted and for a fee she did it all to my satisfaction.
So, either do it yourself or have the developer do it for you.
You either pay with time or with money 😆
