Hi all,
At the risk of being rude to one of the members I have to ask this: do any of you know a Caled Sigilon? Is he/she a member of this forum and a trustworthy person? I just received an email from this person offering help to solve major security issues at my archive, the Library of Moria ( http://www.libraryofmoria.com/a/).
We are running version 3.3.1 and I followed all the instructions upon installing. Do we really have a detectable problem or is this person trying to pull one on us?
Regarding upgrading... are we really supposed to overwrite the files? I'm a bit confused about this. Sorry for adding this side note but if we're required to do an upgrade for security issues, this is one post less that I'll make.

With regards to the upgrade, yes, once you have downloaded the new version, upload it into your efic directory, overwriting the current files. The only file that should not be overwritten is you config.php. It is probably also okay to skip the skins and tinymce folder if you (althgouh not 100% sure about the tinymce) . Also there should be no stories folder in the upgrade, so that will leave your stories folder alone.

Additionally, I would be cautious about anyone sending you unsolicited email offering to help with issues you didn't even know you had. I've never heard of the person who sent you the email, and it's possible that s/he is honestly trying to help, but it sounds more like someone trying to scam you.
