My reveiw count is way off. I am not sure if i just dont understand the changes that have been made the the stats block.
in the tables i have a new one mpfffanfiction_stats which claims to have :
sitekey stories chapters series reviews wordcount authors members reviewers newestmember
2108 5191 18 1679 17390842 383 488 548 530
but my reveiws table claims:
mpfffanfiction_reviews 1,739 MyISAM latin1_swedish_ci 624.7 KiB -
All the actual reveiws are there, just not showing up in the count.
I also ran the archive maintenance, recount reveiws, and no good.
thanks

Do you have rating only reviews? With putting a rating only, (like, dislike, stars, no review), it saves that information to the review table in your database, but the stats only count the actual written reviews, with text. SO you could have 200 rows in the review table, but only 100 of them could be actual, written reviews and counted in the stats.
When you browse the table, the rating only reviews say "NO REVIEW" in the text area.

I have my reveiws set to
Turn on reveiws: Yes
Allow anon: Yes
Authors may delete: no
Ratings system: stars
Allow ratings only: Yes
looking in the _stats table it says 1688 reveiws now so what you said is probably right then, they are not counting the ratings only reveiws. My _reveiws table is 1748
Is this a new way of counting them because of the new block stats?
I notice in my pre 3.2 tables, there was no _stats table, and the site info reflected the reveiw count in the _reviews table.
Is it possible to make it use that count, since it is so much higer and reflects that ppl have been rating as well?
also noticed while browsing that stats table that it had NO INDEX DEFINED!
dont know enough abuot this to know if that is how it shoudl be or that is smt wrong.
thanks

I set the correct number on the stats table in the database. After that, it's been keeping the correct count.
I wouldn't change my stats for reviews to count ratings as well. It's dishonest, we don't really have that many reviews. If it's switched it to count ratings as well, it should say "We have ### ratings and reviews in our archive".

So, just turn on ratings without reviews or is there something else I need to change?
darklight, I don't understand what you are asking.
If you have the base (original, unmodified) 3.2 eFiction only, it counts the reviews that are saved in the database, not the Ratings Only reviews as well.
If you have modded your eFiction script to say the number of reviews you have, including the Ratings Only reviews, then you need to change your stats/info block on the homepage to reflect that.
If you turn on Ratings Only and No reviews, no one will be able to leave reviews for any of the stories for your archive. π

Eh, don't worry about it, I know what you meant now. In any case I'm using the info.php file from the 3.1 release now so no problems. Sorry about the confusion!
