Hi - I just installed the script yesterday, and am currently working out the kinks. I searched the forum and didn't find my particular question. I have some authors who would prefer that their fics only be accessed by registered members, regardless of the fic rating. I know I can do a blanket restriction by rating, but since, in order to accomodate these users, I'd have to make every rating accessible only by registered members, I'd rather not do that. I've checked the admin manual, but can't figure out how or if I can do this. Thanks in advance for the help. I've got a bit of a mental block where codes and such are concerned as well, so the more basic the explanation, the better for me!
Oh, and the site is here - http://albionarchive.byethost17.com/index.php.
Thanks again!
I don't think the script can do that. This sounds like something that would be better asked in the 3.0 mod request section. It's kind of an odd request. i could see if they didn't want their nc-17 (or whatever you rate your adult stories at) stories, but all stories?

Make another rating and make it locked.
So people can select
"K+"
"K+ Registered Members only"
Whoever said nothing is impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

Jan_AQ,
Thanks. That's actually the stop-gap solution I worked out - just wasn't sure if there was maybe another way to do it!
babaca,
In answer to your question, the fic archive is for RPS fic about a band, and is meant to be an archive for two LJ communities which have the option to friendslock fic. Some people are uncomfortable with the idea of the boys finding their work, even if it's not explicit, and wouldn't participate in the archive unless there's an option to lock it like they do in the communities.
Thanks again for the help.
Ah, thanks. I just wondered. And I'm glad Jan and you came to the same conclusion, although it seems like a lot of work to me, but if it keeps everyone happy, that's cool.
