Yeah...what's the link to your archive so we can see WHY your site is loading slowly. Perhaps you need to optimize your images and coding in your skin.

Modern Machine is one of the most graphic intensive skins available. You might be able to squeeze a few kb from the .jpg with further compression, but it won't speed it up too much. If your host is serving pages slowly, you'd probably want one with less than 50kb images total.
Turning OFF tinymce is also a way to get the page to load faster.

The default skins are css based and should load very quickly. If you like the way Edgey looks, my Safari is similar and should load faster.

anyway is there any way to change the sizes of the textboxes when submitting a story? which file should i edit?
already did for contacts.php but don't know about submitting stories... 🙂
Try maybe looking in the includes folder. Storyform.php maybe?
