URL to your eFiction: http://childrenoftime.creative-musings.com/archive/
Version of eFiction: 3.5
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?: No
Version of PHP: can be found out from your host: 5
Version of MySQL: can be found out from your host 5
Have you searched for your problem: (yes/no) Yes
If so, what terms did you try: submission problems
State the nature of your problem: Copy and paste any errors you are receiving.

When I try to add a new story I get this:

A fatal MySQL error was encountered.
Query: SELECT PENNAMEFIELD AS penname FROM DBPREFIXfanfiction_coauthors AS c WHERE sid = '139' LEFT JOIN fics1fanfiction_authors as author AS a ON a.UIDFIELD = c.uid
Error: (1064) You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'LEFT JOIN fics1fanfiction_authors as author AS a ON a.UIDFIELD = c.uid' at line 1

The story is still showing up as submitted but I'd like to get rid of the error message so that authors don't have to back up to continue to use the site.

And this may be a skinning problem, but with the exception of the index page all the pages have empty boxes on them. I'd like them to not be there, but am unsure how to remove them.

Do you have a test account for us? shannon730/ tinchair45

*scratches head*

I logged in and clicked Add New Story and saw the submission rules and no error messages... does it appear after one posts a story? Wait, I just submitted one. I still don't see an error message. Is it only appearing in a certain skin?

Hi,

I just tested it again. It appears the errors and the problems with teh most recent page onlly happen when an admin uploads. A much smaller problem, I admit, but still a problem. I'll go make the test account admin right now though.

The boxes may be showing up because you have the blocks set to show on every page.  Try setting them to index only and see what happens.

I did try that. I tried disabling the blocks completely and they still show up.

Even if you disable the blocks.  you still have to take the code that calsl them out of the skin files.  I want to say its in index.tpl or variables.
