Problem with challenges block

Hi all, πŸ™‚

I've installed efiction without glitches and managed to customize a skin and all... but when it comes to using the challenge block I keep having the  same problem. When I go to browse and click it, I get a message

"Error! We encountered an error. Please go back and try again."

Could this be because I haven't entered a challenge yet? This might sound stupid but I can't figure out how to do it. I don't see any links in the admin panel that can help me... πŸ™

I did a forum search with challenge questions but I couldn't find my answer.

Thanks
Tal

Btw, the site is at: http://www.libraryofmoria.com/a/

Did you install the challenges module?  It's not installed by default.

It doesn't look like you've installed challenges. Log in as Admin,
then type go to:

http://www.libraryofmoria.com/a/modules/challenges/install.php

When asked if you want to install, choose yes.

Once it's installed properly, to create a challenge you only have to go to:

http://www.libraryofmoria.com/a/browse.php?challenges

And click on Add a Challenge.

I did install... Then, upon reading this I tried to uninstal to reinstall and now I can't install it again - the option stopped being available.

I wonder if maybe initially not all of the challenges module got uploaded (or maybe something was corrupted in the upload). You might try downloading a copy of efiction and just uploading the challenges module from the files.

However to manually uninstall it you would go to:

http://www.libraryofmoria.com/a/modules/challenges/uninstall.php

(but only if you are logged in as admin)

Hi πŸ™‚

Did you manage to fix the challenge part of your archive?

I've been traveling in the past few weeks but now I'm back home and I followed all the instructions again and I still get the same message.

Any ideas?

Tal

Oops. spoke too soon. I found the answer buried in an old thread and it had to do with the link in the browse panel.

I DO have another question, if anyone sees this and has enough patience for me clueless newbie questions - how can I enter a challenge under a name that is not my own? We have a ton of challenges from the old site that we would like to transfer and credit to the right peole...

Thanks for any help.

You'd have to use PHPMyAdmin and enter them into the database manually.
