I'd Upgraded my efiction 2 to the last one.
Now my betareaders are 1 or 0, and not yes or no.
There must be a problem somewere π
Modified to fix url coding
Hmmm, I don't know but when I upgraded, I changed mine manually. How big is your archive? If it has around 100 members or less, it shouldn't be too hard to change it manually.
For me, in the database betareader was field #8 in the fanfiction_authorfields. I went into fanfiction_authorinfo. I have a lot of members, so I just exported the whole thing of fanfiction_authorfields, and did a find and replace to change "8, 1;" or "8, 0;" to "8, Yes;" or 8, No;" depending on what it was supposed to be.
I had a long, detailed post on it when 3.0 first came out, and I had to manually edit all of my profile fields, but I don't know where that post is now.

You can use phpMyAdmin to fix it.
1. Go into the fanfiction_authorfields table and find the field_id for the betareader field. It will probably be 8, but check to make sure.
2. Rrun the following two SQL queries.
UPDATE PREFIXfanfiction_authorinfo SET info = 'Yes' WHERE field = '8' AND info = '1';
UPDATE PREFIXfanfiction_authorinfo SET info = 'No' WHERE field = '8' AND info != 'Yes';
Don't forget to change PREFIX to your table's prefix.
I have the same problem. And I think that the solution offered is somewhat ugly.
If it is a yes/no option, then storing it as 0/1 in the database is the normal way. There should not be any language dependencies or taking up more space than necessary.
What if I change my language file? What if I want to use a language switcher?
