I've recently grown tired of trying to find a theme that suites my needs (after looking for weeks, and trying my hand at it and nearly breaking the entire darn efiction section!), I wanted to know where/if it is possible to find a designer who would be willing to create a custom theme for efiction?
I have browsed the forums, but found no real discussion on this, and felt this was the most appropriate place to post it. I apologize if it is not, but thank you for correcting me! 🙂

Ahhh, glad to hear. Maybe you should make a board for freelancer work for Efiction? I mean, I'm sure those who have the skills/knowledge to do themes, fixing bugs, etc etc would be happy to do it for those who need it for a few bucks (or a lot of bucks depending :P).

Sorry to bump a 'dead' thread, but I felt it may be easier to post here, rather then pm the 2-3 individuals mentioned (who some seem to be very... angry against PM's :P).
So! I've finally accumulated a nice sum of funds which I can and plan to use for a new theme for my site! So I wanted to ask a few questions here, in the hopes I can get pointed into the right direction as to who would like to, and be capable of taking up the request I have in mind, since it may not appeal to all those who could possibly do it. 🙂
So! This is what I had in mind at the moment.
- Over-all, I am looking at a 'recoloring' with some custom graphics (mostly just a header, though it is NOT required, as I can find another to do it).
I have noticed a serious lack of 'dark' themes, which is exactly what I'm after (as it goes with my sites theme).
I do NOT require anything to be rearranged or changed for the display as I find it quite nice as its basic setup, though if someone wished to show me a possibility, i wouldn't complain.
The main point to worry about, is my site is adult oriented (though it's practically CLEAN unless you go into the galleries which are tucked away and not related the story section at all), this is not to say the theme will be 'adult oriented', in fact the header I have in mind would be MAYBE Ecchi.
So simplified: Need a recoloring of a theme with possibly a custom header on a adult (yet clean for the most part) site.
I would like to know, if any of the possible designers who posted in this thread would take up this little project, and give me a ROUGH idea at how costly it would!

What theme do you want recolored? How hard it is will depend on the theme. If it's a theme that's not using graphic boxes but CSS boxes, it'll be pretty simple. In fact, you can probably do it yourself. This article on my site explains step by step how to do it using one of my skins as an example. If it is a graphical theme, you may need the original theme's author to help you if they didn't include the source files for the graphics.
The reason there aren't many dark themes is that in general people don't like to read on a dark screen. After a couple thousand years of light colored paper/papyrus and dark colored ink, it's hardwired into our brains to prefer it that way.
P.S. I'm not really that hard nosed about getting PMs or even IMs. That signature was from a couple years ago when there were some people who were taking advantage of a lot of free help from me and then getting mad when I said "It's midnight. I have to work in the morning. I'm going to bed."
