I have a question. If one owns a one-author efic site and would
prefer that only a favored few gain access to the work there, is
there any way at all to password protect it to control the flow of
readers?
I guess I mean a pop-up page with some kind of javascript prompt
that would ask for a username and password, and then, upon compliance,
that person would actually get to the efic homepage.
I'm not asking that this to be something provided with new efic updates.
I'd just like one for myself, and if anyone can put me on the path to if/how
this can be done, it would be appreciated.
Thanks. π
Some hosts allow you to password-protect subdomains/folders, so you could add one to the directory where your eFic is installed. No modding necessary that way.
That's awesome! I'm going to look into it with my server.
Thanks so much!
Also, wouldn't recommend using JS because it would be very easy to manipulate the code/get the login information. π
