The article gives you step-by-step instructions on what to do. If you have hosting and your database is set up, start with step 3.

Im using www.zymic.com, and those directions dont work with what the site wil let me do. I have no idea what to do, and if someone would take a look at what I have to work with ad tell me where to go from there, that would be nice.

Did you create your database already? if you didn't and you're not using cPanel, it's unlikely anyone will know how to do it with your host. Surely they have some documentation. If not, look for something in your site's admin panel.

Otherwise, the installation is the same no matter what host your using.

I cant find anything on this host! The only thing they have are tutorials, and thre are only five free ones. Its free, so anyone can make an account with this host. all they ask for is username, e-mail, and password. testing is obviously not an issue. I just wish someone who knew how to do it would walk through it with me.

But that's the thing...if your host is using a custom admin panel, then there is no way for anyone except someone using the same host to know how to do it.

as I said, the accounts are free, and take all of about five miutes to make, though they are all www.yoursite.vndv.com. does it make a difference that they are subdomains, as they still have MySQL and php?

I guess im asking: is there some kind soul out there who would take the time out of his or her day/night to make an account, try this for themselves, come back, and tell me how to do this?  I would be super happy if someone would!

The site is ww.zymic.com

Generally, no it should make a difference if your database is in a subdomain or not. (I say generally because there may be exceptions). I bring you examples of how webdomains may be set up...

C-Panel usually looks like this. This is is what Freehostia's look like.

Ensim is another way logging into the webdomain may look like. That one is what doteasy's looks like.

So unless zymic.com uses something different, I don't know how much help you can expect. Especially since I doubt very few people are using is. (I also looked a their website wondering how they made any money if it's all 'free'. They apparently make their money by "helping" people set up their forums, wordpress blogs, and websites). Just how complex is their setup?

it's not so much complicated as unique. Its really time consuming too, cause I have to make all the folders like on cpanel, then I have to upload files to them three at a time..... I advise someoe to make a account cause its free, and that way the next person that uses this wont have to go through this cause someone will be able to help them 😐

can't you use an ftp program like filezilla and just unzip efiction on your computer then upload those files via the filezilla program? You just make your ftp settings
ftp.yourwebsite.com
user name: your username at the website
password: your password for the website

then point the efiction files on your computer to your webdomain? I find it's usually faster to upload the files that way rather than using the cpanel's file manager to upload files.
