I installed the newest version of eFiction and put some stories in it. Then I wanted to have a look, if everything is okay and I saw ... nothing. All went well, no errors occured, but the textbody is empty. the folder "stories" is on 777, that should be right.

It may be reporting it as CHMOD'd to 777, but the text wasn't saved. That's almost always either a CHMOD problem or your host has safe mode on and you can't store the text in files and must use the database. Use the PHP Info link in the Admin area to check.
I would try chmodding the stories folder to 755. It's what I use and I've never had a problem.

Now running v.3
First of all, thank you for that quick answer. I tried with chmod the folder stories 777 and 755. Both didn't work.
I already took contact to the host support. I hope they will try the safemode thing.
I will tell you what will happen next and when and how my solution looks like.
Edit: In the php-info I read
sql.safe_mode Off Off
safe_mode On On
safe_mode_exec_dir no value no value
safe_mode_gid Off Off
safe_mode_include_dir no value no value

Yeah, that seems to indicate safe mode is on. I would suggest you just change to storing of the text to the database instead of files.
It was the safe_mode. The webhoster changed it to off and I posted the stories again and now I can see them.
I don't know why this safe_mode thing is a problem over and over again...
