I fixed it. But there really isn't anything on it.
Go to the downloads page and download the zip to your computer. Unzip it. . Open your FTP program. You should have two windows--one for the files on your computer and one for the files on your webhost. In the window for your webhost, go to your public folder. (Check with your host if you don't know what it's called. Probably www, public_html or htdocs). In the window for your local files, open the efiction folder you unzipped earlier. Highlight all the files and click transfer.
For information on what to do from here, see the docs that come with the program.
Hello, I'm T. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this program. I don't know what I'm doing and www.yoursite.com isn't helping me. Basically I have absolutely no clue what I'm suppose to do with the php files or how to use them. If someone could help me, explain how to make the site, or just point me in the direction of a really good tutorial site I would be very thankful!
Thank you for you time.
T
Can i assume then that you havent installed it yet? Do you have a domain and ftp access?
Once you have downloaded the zip from efiction, you will need to unpack it and then have it loaded up into your domain.
This looks like it belongs in the install section.
Have you got that far yet?
Do you have a url?

Okay, so I've finally gotten the files onto my host and I've read the documents but maybe I'm missing something. I can't see them when I visit my site and I haven't a clue where to go now.
If the files are all uploaded, you need to make a table for them. i am not sure how your host works, but this can usually be done through your control panel, and an option called mysql databases or something like that. Make a note of the table name and username and password, you will need to enter them later
Once the tables are made, then you need to make sure you have moved your config.php out of the docs folder and into the main efiction directory and chmod it to 666.
(that is in the readme you got with the download, under the Brand New Install section)
you will also have to add your own stories folder most likely and chmod that to 777.
Once all that is done then you need to go to your domain and the url will be smt like this:
http://instantstarallure.awardspace.com/yourefictionfolder/install/install.php
just change the yourefictionfolder bit to whatever you have named your folder you put the efiction in and that should get the srcipt running

Thank you Jacci!
I now have eFiction up and running.
"Thank you Jacci!
I now have eFiction up and running." by what they call a newbie.
Just ask us to join that one site it all started with and you're launched.
Else: where can we download an English and/or Dutch version of the last version of eFiction?
PAY ATTENTION, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT DUTCH BUT ONLY WITH THE SEARCH OF THE PATH. Ok, I followed the guidelines with success but it doesn't work for my actual version.

Currently there is no Dutch translation for 3.0 available, we would need someone to contribute a translation of the current eFiction language files. We are confused as to what you are asking, since you do not appear to be the original poster of this topic. If you are having installation problems, please start a new topic with the support request template.
