I have SMF running too on one of my sites, but I guess I prefer phpbb because there's so many more mods. 1.1 is definitely worth it, lots of new features and cool stuff.  🙂

colors are awesome, and I get Afrom Man how cool is that 🙂

?

Steve

Afro Man is obviously the epitome of cool with his huge hair and sunglass, but my question is, why is he called Mr. Green? Reminds me of Clue...(the game, you know?)

Again, the colors will change a bit, but you'll still be able to choose this one. I can tell you, there will be no more mint green. Even though I picked it out, it got old.  😮

Look here for an idea of the new colors: http://efiction.wallflowergirl.com

I can't help but notice that the demo link both here and on the top home page has this error

A fatal MySQL error was encountered.
Query: SELECT * FROM fanfiction_categories WHERE parentcatid = '-1' ORDER BY displayorder
Error: (1046) No Database Selected

Just FYI.

That's because...someone...accidently deleted the database when she was doing some cleaning. Oops!

(I just noticed as well when I was adding those links...I'll probably fix it tomorrow.)

ETA: I just went ahead and fixed it. Too bad I can't yell at the person who did it...

Hey guys... I don't know what you did but my issue with being logged in and the cookies seem fixed now! 😀

Kudos!

I've heard a little bit about this script, and from my experiences with the Coppermine Gallery Forum (they treat me like shit over there), it's going to be a promising program.

Testing smileys...

😀 Like all the Looney Tunes!
🙂 Classic!
🙁 Why the long face?
😮 "Holy Mary, Mother Of God" - Paul Tuerpe
😕 That's right. We've jumped forums.
😎 "This is cool" - Butthead
😆 ROTFL
😡 "Mother... robot, mother... robot!" - Jim Carrey
😛 - I gotta keep telling Sonic to stop that!
😳 First time?
😥 Just like in Metal Slug X (Mission 3)....
👿 Blackheart rises!
🙄 Oh, brother.
😉 Just like all the anime babes...
😐 This was what happened when The Terminator won the election. We're all machines!
 Here's looking at you, Ludacris!

(I knew The Goonies'll do me justice!)

Looks great Carissa!  I just switched my forum orver to SMF about 2 months ago.  It takes a bit to get used to it, but I love it.

These smilies looks like damaged phpBB smilies. But, oh well, they're certainly not that important. 🙂

I see that avatars are not restricted in size anymore. Why's that? I personally like avatars not being too big, as they disrupt forum layout and really are not the focus of a board idea.

Well, eyedam, as I've already discussed with you via PM, if I set it to resize the avatars it resizes them all to the same size. To correct this, I have to install a mod. I'll do it eventually, but I'd like to get everything else set up before I install anything like that.

It should be more than obvious--I have switched our forum software from phpBB to Simple Machines. I've got to figure out themes, but in the meantime, please let me know of anything you notice that is amiss. Thanks!

The only thing I don't like about this new board is the search feature that used to search for new posts since you last visited and give you the links. I really miss that.

That is the skin, but I haven't figured out how to add it back into this one. If you really miss it, you can switch to the other skin that came with the download and it's at the top of that one. I'll get these skins fixed soon, and have a few more to offer soon. Unfortunately, right after I switched the software, the server was attacked, so I haven't been able to work on this as much as I would have liked, and now I'm sick, but I hope to get to it by this weekend.

Gotta admit I like SMF much better than phpbb...  we used it on our site for many moons before we finally decided to change to vBulletin...    there are times I still find myself wishing we had SMF though...  easy to use and powerful....  forums are looking good.

I can't help but notice when I post something or even if I'm keeping up with a thread that I'm not getting any emails telling me that anything has happened one way or another. I have 'notify me of replies' checked under "Additional Options..." I also have it checked under my profile as well. Do I also have to click the NOTIFY button as well?

No one's getting emails. I don't know why but it's been happening since my server went down a few weeks ago. I plan on moving the server tonight, and I'm hoping will fix the problem.
