Wow, these posts are incredible. πŸ™‚ i'm really interested in the old efiction/new SMF brige with the log-ins/log-outs and profiles merged. News too maybe, but sometimes there are different types of news on each of the scripts. I think that posting the eFiction news into the forum would be better, since I usually only post news pertaining to the archive on the archive, and the forum has other news, like a new moderator on the forum, a new forum opening, release dates and fandom news. There's the potential for a lot more chatter on the forum news, in my opinion.

Making new forum posts for stories may be too much. What would they be used for? Discussion? In my experience those nearly never work out. Reviews are much better, and if a few people want to discuss a fic, they can post a new topic.

The series for C2 groups is a neat idea, but only if archives use their series that way. My archive uses Series as strictly linking stories that are in the same story arc, or universe, so that they can be listed in order (Also, it alerts readers that what they are reading is part of a series). SO the C2 idea might be better specialized.

I like the idea of eFiction profile fields showing up on the SMF profile, and whenver a member posts. For example, I have my eFiction members pick which Hogwarts house they want to belong to. I'd love for that to show up next to their name every time they post, and to have stats of how many members of each house there are.

I'm not good for the coding part, I'm still trying to figure out running phpmyadmin scripts and actually bridging the two scripts, but I CAN help with skins.

Whoever said nothing is impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

Yeah this whole thread is reminding my why I kept it simple in the first place.  No two people want to do it the exact same way, and trying to satisfy everyone would have made me nuts.  The included sample bridges give you the basics and a place to start to make the bridge work however you want.

5) Fix the redirect on login/logout

This seems to be broken on SMF's end.  I've been working on it today, but I give up.  I set it up the way the docs said, but it's somehow unsetting the redirect link and going back to the default.

4) SMF uses eFiction contact form instead of mailto link. Also add PM link on user pages on efiction

The PM on the profile page I could get working.

6) Integrate who's onlline/ stats

Who's Online would be relatively simple since you can just pull from the SMF table instead of installing one for eFiction.  Stats might be more problematic at least on the SMF side.
