URL to your eFiction: http://www.escape-ism.com/ourstories
Version of eFiction:3.4.3.
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?:SMF 1.1.5  [with Tinyportal v0.9.8]
Version of PHP: 5.2.3
Version of MySQL: 5.0.24a
Have you searched for your problem: (yes)
If so, what terms did you try:download stories, save stories, pdf - and variants of these terms.

Can anyone advise if it's even possible to be able to implement a mod that allows readers to download a story that they are reading/have read?
  - PDF would be preferable since, while it would allow people to DL stories - they would not be able to alter them.

Yes, it's possible, but I've never found the time to write it.  You can use the download as word mod on my site as a basis and then do a search for a "php pdf creation class" in google.  The rest is up to you.

Thanks Tammy,

Er...

I went searching about on http://efiction.hugosnebula.com and couldn't find that "download as word mod."
Am I looking on the right site?

This is Tammy's post about her "print to word" mod that she is referring to.

Hope that helps.

A good pdf creation class can be found here  -> http://www.ros.co.nz/pdf/
Not so complicated and does the job.

It's just the class, you will need to create the function that will open the chapter(s) and parse it to pdf class. You will need some basic php / mysql skills.

Hope it helps.
Seiji.
