1. Go to http://www.sharethis.com and sign up for an account.

2. Click the "Get the button for your site" link at the top of the ShareThis site.

3. Configure the button to your preferences then click the "Get ShareThis Code" button at the bottom of the form.

4. Add this code to your viewstory.tpl and storyindex.tpl

You can see this working at my Wormhole Crossing site. (Later tonight. I'm doing updates now.)

Might I suggest using Add-to-Any instead of Sharethis?

They utilize the Open Share Icon, instead of the ShareThis icon.

The original Share Icon, designed with community input, driven and popularized by Alex King was later sold to ShareThis/Nextumi, Inc and is now wholly owned, trademarked and strongly linked to the new owners.

Since being acquired, that icon has been subject to take down notices by ShareThis/Nextumi, Inc, and its original intended usage restricted in practice. We, as a community, felt these actions by ShareThis/Nextumi, Inc did not reflect the original spirit with which the original share icon was created, and hence felt the need for a new, truly open, free and more flexible community-driven alternative. Use either icon, but make an informed choice.

Whatever you choose to do, I appreciate this mod and will be plugging it into my archive right away! Thanks.

EDIT:I couldn't get it to work with Add-to-Any. Is there a specific place in the .tpls where we should put the code?

I can't seem to get this mod to work. I've tried it with Add-to-Any and Addthis. Nothing shows up.
Is there a specific place we're meant to put it in the .tpl files?

No there's no specific place to put it. Just where you want it to display.

Ah, well. Oddly I've noticed that it only seems to work on one of my skins. http://silenthill.deleted-scenes.com/?skin=Marya but I put it in all my skins.
