Instead of using Fiction Ratings' markings, my staff and I have chosen to use "flames" (since it's an adult site). I was setting ratings as usual and they were posting in order, until I got to "4 Flames"--the rating placed itself in between 0 and 1 instead of between 3 and 5.
I deleted all the ratings and went to try again, but when I added "1 Flame", it posted above 0 instead of below.
Should I try posting my ratings backwards (5-0) to see if that works any better?
For anyone who comes to look later, Jan_AQ said that they'll just stay mixed up and most people will figure out how to use them.
I think they list them alphabetically, you could check for stray spaces before. Or you could try renumbering the ratings in the database, that might order them right if they are ordered by number. But I think they are ordered alphabetically.
Whoever said nothing is impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

They should be coming up in the order they were added.
If they were listed alphabetically, why would "4 Flames" come before "0 Flames"?
And they didn't come up in the order they were added, hence the frustration.
Not that it matters anymore...we did away with ratings period. But I'm still curious.
How did you do away with ratings? It's a required field in the story form.
I discovered that later, after I tried to submit a story...:P
So I replaced it with a rating called "none" and that worked.
