Hi Tammy,

I notice two things. When I try to enter the summission path, it saves what i enter, but when I check after saving, it looks as if the url is cut off.

The second thing is it's looking for the sid, and not the uid. My files are saved on the server, and the authors were numbered.

I am also getting this error.

Warning: fopen(home/yoursite/public/1/366.txt) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/yousite/public_html/Fiction/stories.php on line 581

Any feedback would be greatly appriciated.

I also see that Walter had a similar problem and fixed his by doing this.

[Okay, I figured it out.  The stories folder was fine, but the code is now looking for stories in the stories folder by uid, not by the author's name.  I put links from the penname to the uid and story text started showing up.  Now my user just has to edit their skin.

Walter]

I am just not sure exactly what he did.

Thanks.

Yep, that's how it works.  I believe 1.1 used the username, judging by some folders I've got hanging around on my site. (I didn't come in until we were on 2.0.)  Both 2.0 and 3.0 create folders inside the stories folder that are numbered by the author's uid.  Then, inside those folders, the .txt files are numbered the following (99% sure it works this way): the first chapter of a story gets the sid.  The following chapters get the chapid.  (The other 1% is that they all get the chapid.)
