I'm so happy!
Now, I've put a brand new efiction3 site, wrote all settings, and it's working, but *why* the table in the database is *empty*? There are just the default settings, and not the one that I put while installing!

Just to know.

PS: I know that I'm not the only one, also two friends of mine have the same problem.

Can't help when you don't follow the instructions for asking for help.  No link to your site.  No information about the site.

Look, you see it only in the database, so it's totally useless the link to my site.
And I won't give to anyone the id and password to access the database.

Actually, I can tell a lot from just looking at the pages especially since we've added the handy-dandy "debug" feature to 3.0.  If you don't want to give out your site URL, fine.  Good luck.      I'll go help someone who really wants help.

Set your language to English and see if you can submit it then.  I can tell from the errors the site is posting that you have some errors in the language file here:

Actually, I'm the webmistress of http://diarieroi.altervista.org
I never changed the language of my site. The languages file is the same one I downloaded with the script. And I encountered the same problem: no setting in the database table.

I don't really understand your problem.Have you tried changing the settings via the admin interface?

And your site is in a different language, so you must have changed the language files. Backup your edited files and upload the original files that came with the download and see if you can submit.

They might have downloaded the file from somewhere else that comes with the chnaged language files.

AlessiaHeartilly, download the efiction files that are on this site and upload them.
https://efiction.org/downloads.php

That is the one we give support for.

I downloaded Efiction from this site.
You can see a different language only because I changed the page titles in the "Page Links" panel. Also, the news are in my language, of course. But they have nothing to do with the language file, right?
I didn't touch the language file, it's the same I downloaded from this site. If you want proof, just ask^^

The settings have been filled in during installation, so the language file was the original one. I tried changing them via the admin interface, but the database still has the default settings. Now if the problem is in the language file as you understood, it's in the original file.

If you think that uploading the language file again will solve the problem, I can try. But as I've already told you, the language file hasn't been touched -and the problem with the database was already there when I changes the page titles in the 'page links' panel.

Thanks for your answer.

It's sounds like a permissions problem..since something isn't 'writing'.  If I'm understanding right, they're trying to affect changes via the Admin interface, when they click submit, despite the action was successful message, no changes are being saved.  They've looked in the DB to see if there are changes and see none.  Off the top of my head, depending on what they're changing will depend on if it's a file permissions error they have to check or something else.  That's a guess.    As far as a suggestion, I dont' have one, because I'm not familiar with how the script saves information into the DB.

The confusion with the language file is that the original poster linked to two sites, and one site did change the language file as evidenced by these errors:

Notice: Constant _AGECHECK already defined in /web/htdocs/www.immaginifico.com/home/field/languages/it.php on line 24

Notice: Constant _LIKED already defined in /web/htdocs/www.immaginifico.com/home/field/languages/it.php on line 157

Notice: Constant _CHAPTER already defined in /web/htdocs/www.immaginifico.com/home/field/languages/it.php on line 222

These errors are from this site: http://www.immaginifico.com/field/. Whoever's site that is should reupload the original en.php language file and see it that helps.

The other confusion is that the original poster didn't explain the problem very well. I looked at the sites, and they seem to be working fine. (Well, to be honest, http://www.immaginifico.com/field/ has been blocked by my employers overactive blocking software, but I looked at them both over the weekend and they both looked fine.) If you have some missing settings, go into the admin panel and try to add them.

If you require additional help, please provide additional information on the problem.

As I've already said, it does not help, since my site is still in English and has the same errors.
Anyway the original poster did try to change the site to eng, but the error is still there.

I'll try a new installation this afternoon, so you can see the error.

Ok, as I told you, I tried a fresh installation of the site. I downloaded Efiction 3.2.1 here: https://efiction.org/downloads.php?cssfile=styleblue.css

The test site can be found here: http://aleheartilly.altervista.org/prova/index.php

Now, I didn't change anything, as you can see, only used new settings to test if they work. I only followed the installation instructions, giving the required permissions to files and using the automatic installations of tables and so on.
This is what I can see in my administration panel -> settings (it's an image, I hid my email address; hope it's ok):
However, this is what is stored in my database:

As you can see, my settings are missing.
The original poster, emmekappa, told me that she managed to store the settings in the database after trying 5-6 times, using the IT file. She also told me that she encountered the same problem with series.

Can you tell me where the problem exactly lays? There is no Italian file in my new installation and I purposely used English terms to install.
If you need other information, or if you need to register to my site, feel free to ask or register.
Thanks.
