Did you upload the languages folder? It's looking for it but can't find it. :3

You need to supply the script with the correct mysql connect information when it asks you.  Do a search in the forums there are plenty of posts about this.

I get a 404 error when I go to that url. That means you're missing a file.  In this case the index.php file.  See hmpf's posts today.  You've probably got something similar.

I read through hmpf's posts and i didnt get very far.  the last time i put all the files on, i managed to get to the install page but it came up with errors (when i deleted and re put on all the files again it turned out i missed a big file)  but now it wont do anything and comes up with the 404 error.
the index.php file is on there because i deleted it and put it back on there.
i was wondering how many files that needed to be uploaded because there is the little file count and it would be a lot easier that way instead of going through all of them again.
i dont know if there is something extra i need to do or what, i am completely stumped.
please help
thank you

p.s sorry i am quite annoying, i am really lost

p.s.s my host is freehostia if that helps at all
thanks again

It doesn't look like you uploaded all the files.

XOX,

Try uploading the files using an ftp program and have the uploads set to Auto or Text and not Binary. I know Freehostia will let you upload fies using their ftp manager, but I don't think it works very well. (But that could just be me).

Hmpf's problem was she had uploaded using binary, but once she uploaded using 'auto' she could see pages properly without errors.

Thank you heaps for the reply,
I was just wondering how you know and can chanfe the Binary and Auto thing.  I have been clicking around for ages and cant figure it out, plus was i supposed to upload the files on the file manager or the FTP manager becasue i cant do anything on the FTP manager.
Sorry for being so stupid.

I really need some help with this issue,
do i need to completely delete and re put on all the files again because i am worried it wont do anything.  last time  i did it, i took a step backwards.
I have been trying to figure out the Binary thing and have no idea how to change it, should i keep trying to install eFiction or give up? i am getting really frustrated and depresed.

We really can't tell you how to change the upload setting because it's going to depend on how you are uploading your files.  If you're using a web based file manager, it'll depend on which one....which is dependent on your host.  You need to ask them in that case or the help options in the file manager.  If you're using an FTP program (a better option most of the time) then it will depend on your program.  You need to look at the program's documentation in that case.

OK
I have changed hosts to awardspace and have re uploaded all the files onto the file manager (this is the third time) although when i go to click on the website it redirects it somewhere else.
thedailyprophet.awardspace.com
I was wondering how i would be able to get into the install part.
thank you
