Version of PHP: can be found out from your host    263-php1 i think
Version of MySQL: can be found out from your host  i can;t find it
Have you searched for your problem: (yes/no)  yes all day
If so, what terms did you try:  read through every topic on the forum
State the nature of your problem:         A fatal MySQL error was encountered.  ERROR: Failed to connect to the database!

Hi all,

I have spent the last two days trying to get this sorted and am finally at my wits end, so i hope someone can help, even if it's just to point me in the right direction.

I use yahoo small business, and sitebuilder. I have unzipped th efic, and uploaded it using ftp into a subdirectory on my website (the site is already up and running, we are just looking for a better way to archive/display our fics)
At one point php was working fine, but now it seems to have locked me out of everything and won;t let me change the priorities or restart, regain my passwords etc.
I have followed the instructions in the efic files and read throughly everything in the files and on this forum, trying lots of suggestions but to no avail.

I've chmod-ed the files n moved them where they should be, as far as i can see. When i try and access the install, it just comes up saying it's filed to connect to the database.

I would greatly appreciate any assitance, guidance or slaps around the head for something painfully easy i may have overlooked.  πŸ˜€

Thanks Athenamsp

Did you ever create a database in mySQL? Because the error message is saying it can't connect to the database. I don't use Yahoo for websites so I don't know how one goes about setting up their database. Maybe someone who may have used Yahoo in the past will be able to help.
