I've had an efic archive before but someone else installed it. Now I'm trying to install a new one myself and it's been hours of frustration please help. Info below:

URL to your eFiction: website
Version of eFiction: 3.5.3
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?: no
Version of PHP: have no clue
Version of MySQL: MySQL 5.1.56
Have you searched for your problem: Yes
If so, what terms did you try: help with new installation, where to upload files, what happens after you install database?
State the nature of your problem: I've been following your manual and after I set up a new database, I installed every file in my efiction folder to my /public_html directory and of course nothing happened. Did I upload the files to the wrong directory? Did I miss a step in between, please help. I have never installed software this way before. I'm very confused, this is way over my head.
Do you have a test account for us? No, because efic is not running yet.

What did you do after uploading the files? Did you try going through the install script? If so, at what part did it fail?

I uploaded the files to my public_html directory. When I was done, I followed the directions by going to the link to do the install and I got an dns error message. Bascially a bad link message.

I fixed the issue. It was partly due to my web hosting provider. My domain was not pointing to the right IP by some unknown glitch and it was also just a simple matter of deleting the default index page that was in my directory. Then wallah, the login prompt for the install script was there! - Thanks
