But, how do I upgrade from 3 to 3.3.5. I've downloaded the file but am confused about how to upload the new version. Do I have to upload each file individually and overwrite my old files?
You download the zip file. You unzip and upload all the files of that zip except for skins, install, and tinymce and config.php.
Once you upload the files to your webserver (yes, you want to override and have the new files write over the old files), you go to your website
Your website have a Maintenance note on it (log in and if you are an admin you will see a note asking if you want to install). If you were already logged in as Admin, the screen will ask if you are ready to install the new version. Select Yes. It will take a few minutes (if that) and then it willl tell you you have successfully installed efiction version 3.x.x
You might want to back up your files before had (i.e. before uploading new files on your webserver) by logging in as Admin. Go to Admin Maintenance and choose backup files.
It's very simple.
