Hello,
I'm a bit stuck at the moment... π π₯
Ok, first off, a while back I accidentally deleted my efiction343 files... π ya, a bit clumbsy I know though its alright with the members. It was just when I started it so the only members were people I personally knew. They forgave me for their files being erased (there were I think 4 of them)... and I never plan on letting that happen again!
Anyhow, I decided, since I'm settling back into school, that I should fix up my site since its been a while. So, of course, I started from scratch. I started it yesterday, and now I'm at the point that I've uploaded it all on through my FTP and the last step I did was changing the permission numbers after the Config.php file to 666 and changing the stories file to 777.
I have one minor problem, and one that's more on the major side.
For the minor, I couldn't find a stories file... Are we suppose to make one? I really didn't worry about this one though, since in the manual area it said that it would try to make one... So I decided to experiment with that and go ahead to the next step.
For the major one, whenever I type in my address, http://www.cuffanfictions.com/ , it always goes to the 'Directory has no index file' page as it will problably say if you go to the link I gave. I'm thinking I made this happen when I accidentally deleted the other stuff... And since it only does that, it won't go to the 'install' set up page like its suppose to. Does anyone have advice on how to fix this problem?
Thank you so much for everything,
Liliedove
If you are planning to store the stories in a folder, then yes, you have to create a 'stories' folder (although you can name it something else if you want).
We're at 3.5, you might try uploading that instead of 3.43

Oh, I am using version 35. I guess I just thought I satated that, but never wrote it down... Sorry about that!
I believe it's redirecting because of the default settings of your web host. Or perhaps your files are uploaded to the wrong area. They may need to be in a folder labelled /public_html, or one labeled after your username for your hosting account or your site. for example /cuffanfictions.com/. Check with your host where you need to have your files uploaded.
Ya, now that I've spent a long time looking at it, I don't think its efiction thats going wrong. Somehow, I think I deleted some defult web page that was needed.
