Have you searched for your problem: Yes.
If so, what terms did you try: hyphen, dash
State the nature of your problem:
A friend of mine has been trying to register at my archive with a hyphenated username (Anne-Li). She keeps receiving the error message, "Sorry! Usernames can only contain letters, numbers, underscores, hyphens, or spaces, and must be between 3 and 20 characters long."
I can't add her as an author, either. The error message in that case is simply, "_BADCHAR." Is there anything I can do about this, other than ask her to eliminate the hyphen?
Have her sign up without the hyphen, and then try editing it using phpMyAdmin to list the name with the hyphen. The error might be a bug, in which case, this would belong in the Bug Forum.
But before posting bugs, you have to have the latest version of efiction, we are at 3.2 now.
In any case, you can always edit her name later, so just do the one without the hyphen for now.
Whoever said nothing is impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.
