Again, I hope I'm asking this in the right forum. Please forgive me if I'm not. I stink at forums.

Anyway, here are my questions.

Question 1. How do I suspend someone? I haven't opened for business yet but I'd like to know before I start. Do I just lock their account for the amount of time they are suspended for and then unlock it? As for banning do I just lock their account and delete their stories and profile or can I actually delete their account? Is there a way to do that?

Question 2. If warning emails go unanswered is there a way to hide a story instead of deleting it to get an authors attention if there is a TOS or Submissions problem before deleting the story?

Question 3: How do the challenge submissions work? This is a two part question. The first part is where it says allow anonymous challenges. Do they mean members can add challenges too or that non-members can as well? The second part is how does one submit an answer to a challenge? Do they use the round robin format or is there a more complicated way of doing it?

Again please forgive me if I'm in the wrong forum. Thank you for all your help thus far. You guys have helped me so much. You're tech support deserves a 10! πŸ™‚

Dana

Q1. You, as admin look at the person's profile when you are logged in and click Lock Account.  They will not be able to log in or add stories. To unlock the account, go to Admin->Members and clicked on Locked Members. Click on their name and you will get the question do you want to unlock this account? Yes or No.

Q2. If you have to validate stories of new members, then just don't validate the story you don't want posted. You will see the story in your Submissions queue, but no one else will see it. If you have your setting arranged so the author doesn't need you to validate their stories, you can still go in as admin and "Unvalidate" the story, then it won't show up until you validate the story yourself.

Q3. Anonymous challenges work like this, someone who is not a member can go into Challenges (if you have it set to allow anon. challenges) and request that they would like to see a fic about a certain topic or pairing. One has to be a member to post a story for the challenge. Actually the author should have the story written first, then go to the challenge page and click Respond to challenge. From there it takes them to their Account Information and they pick the fic they have listed for the challenge and click submit (I think, I don't do challenges much). Most people turn off anon challenges because a lot of the time you'll get a spammer advertising their crap rather than posting a challenge. Other authors may post their stories the same. It wouldn't be a round robin at all.

Round robins are different. One can set their fic to be a round robin, so that anyone who is a member can log in and add a chapter to the story as they like. (Mind you I don't do round robins much either, but I know it has to be turned on in Admin settings and I think when submitting a story there is a checkbox for Round Robin).

Hope that was helpful.

For the second part of your question #1: you can definitely delete member accounts. (I have in fact deleted several thousand.) The easiest method is to view the user's profile. When doing so you should see a set of admin links, where 'delete' is one of the options. Confirm the delete, and the script deletes all the associated info from the database.
